The Strand is one of the most famous main thoroughfares of central London. Starting at a distinctive little pub superbly located at the majestic eastern end of the Strand, then on to a brewpub followed by one named after one of the most prolific twentieth century novelists, then by another where a well-known Gothic horror novel was written, this pub crawl then proceeds to the most famous pub on the Strand, then to a pub with two fronts named after an admiral who lost his fleet (and his life) at the Scilly Isles. Next is a theme pub, named after the most famous of fictional detectives, finishing at Trafalgar Square’s much-loved local, often a tourist’s first exposure to a British pub.
