London’s South Bank is one of the foremost centres for art in the world, though there are many other attractions, including a fairground, street performers, restaurants, cafés. Starting at a riverside pub named after the oldest boat race in the world, then on to a wonderful little backstreet boozer almost trapped in a time warp, then to one with grand murals depicting the heroes and villains of the Napoleonic Wars, this pub crawl proceeds to a characterful venue that is part of the history of real ale in London, and after passing through the arts complexes of the South Bank, finishing not at a pub, but at a foodies’ (and drinkies') market superbly located on a prime site on the South Bank.
